Bull Huss fishing information & tips for North Devon

Bull Huss - If you are fishing for Bull Huss then take a good pair of gloves as their skin is tough and they have very sharp teeth. You will also need  Stainless Forceps to remove the hook without loosing a finger! Please do not kill them if you do not intend to eat them. Whilst the Bull Huss / Dog fish are considered a pest by a lot of fishermen, this does not mean that they have to be killed. Good size is between 8 to 10 pounds in weight. Most people just kill these fish and throw them back not realising that they eat the very same fish when they order Rock Salmon from their local Chippy. Their skin is very tough and you will need a very sharp knife to cut this fish, however the effort is well worth it as they are great for cooking in batter.
